Players can pick weapons up off the floor, and even use their arm cannon to create massive holes in the wall, allowing you to really turn the battlefield into your own playground.Ī throwback to the 90s in both gameplay and attitudes apparently, Ion Fury is designed to emulate previous generations of first-person shooters like Duke Nukem, even going so far as to bring in Duke Nukem voice actor John St. If styling on your enemies by performing slide jumps into frontflip headshots sounds like your kind of game, Severed Steel is the game for you.Īs a one-armed badass, you’ll scale a skyscraper level by level, laying waste to the various goons lying in wait on each floor. Severed Steel, despite being a relatively small indie game, has ambition and designs that far exceed a lot of bigger releases, making it one of the best Switch FPS games you can play. Cooler kills and combos will lead to you being rewarded with stronger powers too, so make sure you’re getting creative. Unfortunately though, “first person slinger” probably won’t be catching on any time soon, even if it is much more accurate.īoomerang X is a unique kind of movement shooter, as players will use a super-powered boomerang to carve their way through hordes of enemies, but the key twist is you can also use the boomerang to launch yourself around the arenas to get the drop on your foes. First Person Shooter isn’t really an accurate term for a game like Boomerang X, thanks to the titular weapon you’ll be using throughout the game. ![]()
